Who we help
At Safe Place Pet & Family Network, we are dedicated to supporting all families facing various crises that impact their ability to care for their beloved pets. We understand that life can present unexpected challenges, and our goal is to keep families and their pets together.
Families struggling with housing
With rising rent costs, even average earners with a stable career are finding it difficult to maintain their homes and keep their pets. We offer solutions for those who might temporarily need to stay with family and cannot take their pets with them.
Elderly individuals in medical crisis
For elderly individuals facing medical situations without local family support, we can arrange for temporary pet care, either in their home or in a foster home, ensuring their pets are looked after during their recovery.
Young families with medical needs
Younger individuals recovering from surgery or other medical issues may be physically unable to care for their pets. We provide assistance by finding someone to help in their home or by arranging temporary foster placement.
Our commitment to families and pets
Safe Place Pet & Family Network stands out because we care for both families and their pets equally. We understand the emotional bond and provide comprehensive support to keep that bond strong, ensuring no pet is unnecessarily surrendered due to crisis.
Simple steps to temporary pet care
Getting your pet into our temporary care is straightforward. First, you reach out to us. We'll guide you through some necessary paperwork. Then, we find an appropriate foster home where your pet will thrive. Foster families can either have direct contact with you or Safe Place Pet & Family Network can act as an intermediary.
Flexible options for your situation
We offer flexible stay options, typically for 3, 6, or 9 months. If housing doesn't become available, we can work towards finding the pet a permanent adoptive home. You can always have your pet back at any time, provided some paperwork is signed documenting their return. Our priority is to support you and your pet.
