The inspiration behind our mission
The journey of Safe Place Pet & Family Network began with a personal understanding of crisis. Living in Venice, Florida, I recognized a critical need within our community: families displaced or facing hardship often struggled to find pet-friendly housing or temporary care for their beloved animals. Having experienced this challenge myself, and seeing local shelters overwhelmed, I was inspired to create a solution. Our nonprofit was founded to provide a safe haven for pets and support for families, ensuring that the precious human-animal bond remains intact even in difficult times. We're here to help future families navigate crises without the heartbreaking choice of surrendering a pet.
Making a difference, one family at a time
At Safe Place Pet & Family Network, we envision a future where every family in crisis receives tailored support to keep their pets safe and sound. We approach each situation on a case-by-case basis, offering practical solutions. If a medical emergency prevents pet care, we might arrange a dog walker or ensure feeding.
